Qiqihar is the second-largest city in the Heilongjiang province of China, in the west-central part of the province. There is no camping place close to the city, and we were desperate to get someplace to stay overnight. As per the APP’s phone recommendation, we decided to boondock in Qiqihar, which is in the middle of the city. Good point with this it is safe and close to possible activities we have checked. For example, tomorrow’s water park is very close. We don’t have much time, and we need to rush towards Hulunbuir to meet our friends, so we sleep the night and visit the water park.

As per Tripadvisor, you could visit many places, but the clock is ticking against us.

A compact white travel trailer marked 'MIY' is parked in a roadside rest area, attached to a black SUV with a rooftop cargo box. The background features a cloudy sky, a tree, and a faint cell tower, capturing a moment during a road trip near Qiqihar. The scene showcases a serene break on the journey, emphasizing the ease and freedom of travel with such a setup
Short stop on the way to Qiqihar

Short facts: Qiqihar is a major city in the Heilongjiang province, People’s Republic of China. Close to Qiqihar are numerous wetlands and the Zhalong Nature Reserve, famous in China for being home to numerous red-crowned cranes. Qiqihar is one of the oldest cities in northeast China. It was built in 1691.

Qiqihar Public Security Bureau Entry-Exit Reception Hall parking place was where we stopped for the night. I think boondocking in Qiqihar might be a very safe place and, as usual, recommended by several people on the Woyouzhijia APP

A nighttime scene outside the Qiqihar Public Security Bureau Entry-Exit Reception Hall, with a white travel trailer parked beside a small silver car and a black SUV under the soft glow of streetlights. The vehicles are surrounded by trees and positioned on a clean, tiled plaza, creating a peaceful atmosphere. In the background, the illuminated reception hall and nearby buildings add depth, emphasizing Qiqihar as one of the safest places for boondocking during road trips

Aoyue waterpark

Take a short break from driving and have family fun. Aoyue Water Park was a nice place, and the quality of the water park was over expectations. Many different slides, big wave machines, and the possibility to eat outside and enjoy the sun are what we like

Visitors enjoy a sunny day at Aoyue Water Park in Qiqihar, playing in a large pool surrounded by colorful inflatable toys and wearing bright orange life vests. A rugged, artificial rock wall with climbing structures looms in the background, creating a dramatic visual contrast. The lively atmosphere captures a moment before the park was closed, showcasing its popularity and vibrant energy during its operational days in Qiqihar.
I checked Aoyue Water Park online today, 27 March 2022, with Google Maps, and it states that it is permanently closed.

Yongxingtun Fun Park

A vibrant nighttime view of Yongxingtun Fun Park in Qiqihar, featuring a brightly lit Ferris wheel glowing in shades of blue and yellow against the dark sky. Colorful neon lights illuminate a roller coaster and nearby attractions, adding to the festive atmosphere. In the foreground, cars are parked on a tiled lot, while tall residential buildings with glowing yellow rooftops rise in the background, creating a dynamic blend of urban and recreational energy in Qiqihar

We did not go here as after the water-park we were exhausted.
