Painful fire ants and to boondock in Pinghai Yilong Bay | China’s Tropical Island Hainan Road Trip by RV

We must quickly find a place to boondock in Wenchang, as we left Sea View Island Club earlier than planned.

We decided to leave Sea View Island Club in the afternoon as we wanted to reach southern Hainan sooner, and the place was not what we expected. Again, we needed to fill our food supplies as the previous shop in Qunzhuang Village had minimal supplies. We have already decided to boondock in Pinghai Yilong Bay, which is nearby.

This time, we found an excellent supermarket, Lily Fortune Plaza, close to our boondocking parking and carried several bags of supplies to the RV. The supermarket has an excellent selection of food supplies, and the same building has a coffee shop, Pizza Hut, and KFC if you want some Western fast food.

We decided to boondock in Pinghai Yilong Bay only for one night and quickly realized this was an excellent place.

We quickly found an excellent boondocking spot by recommending it to the community in the Woyouzhijia app. This is located on the beachfront of Pinghai Yilong Bay; people stay in tents, RVs, and cars at the parking lot. Unfortunately, we will only stay one night, and the weather was not great—raining and cloudy—but the place is well worth a visit.

The beach is clean and looks fantastic even though the weather is dull.

The area is clean and friendly, with a great-looking beach. This would be a good place for weekend boondocking and beach activities. We were here only for the night, but based on our short experience, it was a great place to stay for one or two nights. Shops are close by, and spotless public toilets and water are available, making it even better. It is a pity I did not have time to visit the pier you could see from the beach; maybe next time.

On our Hainan road trip, we opted to boondock at Pinghai Yilong Bay. 🏖️🚐 It’s an excellent destination for a short weekend getaway, offering accommodations for cars, RVs, and tents right by the beach. The perfect spot to relax and enjoy the coastal beauty! However, be prepared for the painful fire ants that can be a nuisance during your stay.
