Planning to do a short extended weekend trip outside Shanghai for three maybe four days and want to drive out with RV. Considering places like Moganshan or similar nearby places, maybe around the Taihu lake.
Anybody know if there are good camping / RV friendly spots?
Hi, one of the best campgrounds we have visited is Tangshan Hot Spring Campground in Nanjing, about a four-hour drive from Shanghai. Here is our blog post about the place Tangshan Hot Spring camping
Another place near Shanghai is Wuzhen with the Wuzhen old water town close to the Leqi Wuzhen Vacation camp. About two hours drive from Shanghai and bout 1h drive from the Moganshan mountains and also very close to Taihu lake
Both of them have static caravans that you can rent for weekends and visit some of the nearby places. Different activities are available.
To be noted that we have personally stayed in those campsites.
I found a camping ground named Camping Snail which near Qiandao lake, they seem have quite good facilities and reputation, I called them, they have the parking slot for RV, you can search from Gaode map APP, 350km from.Shanghai, Qiandao lake is a nice place to visit as well.
Thanks both for informative replies. Wuzhen vacation camp seems very good, and is not that far away so it's quite ideal. If I understand right, we could rent the caravan on site? Just drive there with own car and then stay there couple days? This makes planning and logistics much easier for a short trip 😊
